Congratulations Judge Daniel A. Lewis!
The Broward Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section presented the first annual Vance Moore Professionalism Award to Judge Daniel Lewis last month. In presenting the award, the Section reminded us who Vance was and why this award was presented to Judge Lewis. The following is quoted directly from the Section press release.
We Will Forever Miss, our dear friend Vance Moore, whose dedication, commitment and friendship to the Broward County Workers Compensation bar has made an impact that will continue to be felt for many generations to come. Vance epitomized professionalism in our legal community and this professionalism is one that we should all strive to maintain during our legal careers. It is with great pleasure that the Worker’s Compensation Section of the Broward County Bar Association has created the Vance Moore Professionalism Award as a way to Memorialize Vance’s dedication to the community and to carry on his memory through the actions of others.
Equally as challenging to find the right words to say to pay tribute to Vance was in selecting the first person to receive this award. The Broward County Bar Association is honored to dedicate this award to The Honorable Daniel A. Lewis, Judge of Compensation Claims. The award, which was dedicated on February 27, 2015 at the annual Broward County Bar Association Worker’s Compensation Section Educational Conference, reads:
"In recognition of your dedication and commitment to Professionalism and for exemplifying and encouraging the highest level of competence, integrity and ethical conduct in the legal community.”
You cannot find a more humble person in Florida workers' compensation. I am proud that the Section thought so highly of Judge Lewis, and I am proud that they bestowed this honor upon him. Congratulations Judge Lewis!
